International Trachoma Initiative

Founded in 1998 by the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation and Pfizer Inc., the International Trachoma Initiative (ITI) supports global efforts to eliminate blinding trachoma by 2030. ITI works with ministries of health and partner organizations to implement the WHO-endorsed SAFE strategy, including managing the global donation of Pfizer-donated azithromycin, providing technical and logistical assistance, supporting research and monitoring, and strengthening partnerships to accelerate progress toward elimination.
