Sightsavers

Sightsavers is an international non-governmental organisation that protects sight, prevents disease and fights for disability rights. Founded in 1950, it works in more than 30 countries across Africa and South Asia.

In the past 70 years, Sightsavers has treated eye conditions such as cataracts and tackled debilitating neglected tropical diseases to prevent avoidable blindness. They have worked closely with governments, local and international partners to carry out eye operations and distribute over 1.7billion treatments where they’re needed.

Sightsavers also advocates for the rights of people with disabilities by campaigning for inclusion and promoting equal opportunities for everyone to participate fully in society.
