UK to host disability summit in July 2018

The Secretary of State for International Development, Penny Mordaunt MP, announced that the UK government will hold a global disability summit on 24 July 2018.

NNN member Sightsavers has welcomed the announcement and says: "A summit on the scale proposed by the UK government has the potential to make a huge impact in the lives of people with disabilities, and ensure that global leaders live up to the promise of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to ‘leave no one behind’ in tackling extreme poverty and climate change."
