Visa, Security Info & Travel
It is the responsibility of each delegate attending the NNN Conference to organise their own travel arrangements including visas, transfers, flights, accommodation and any on the ground arrangements. Please see the relevant accommodation page for local hotel contact information.
Please note that the following information was for the 2019 conference (Liverpool, UK). Most of the information will be applicable for future conferences, but information regarding visa, security, and travel for the NNN Conference 2020 will be released at a later date.
Nationals of some countries require a visa to enter the UK.
If you are unsure if you require a visa, do use the tool on the UK Government website: https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa
As visa processing times can be lengthy, it is recommended that you begin the process as soon as possible, however, the earliest you can apply is 3 months before you travel.
There multiple types of Visit Visas for the UK. A Standard Visitor visa costs £93, which enables you to visit the UK for various activities including participation in the conference. Check www.gov.uk/visa-processing-times to find out how long processing may take in the country you’re applying from.
Once you have made your visa application through www.gov.uk/apply-uk-visa you will need to make an appointment to attend one of the visa application centres. The centres are all listed on www.gov.uk/find-a-visa-application-centre . At your appointment your fingerprints and a photograph will need to be taken as part of your application.
You will need to provide documents when applying for a visa, which include a valid passport with 2 blank pages for the visa itself. Further evidence includes: evidence that you can financially support yourself during your trip, details of where you intend to stay and your travel plans and details of your employment. Find further information regarding supporting documentation on www.gov.uk/government/publications/visitor-visa-guide-to-supporting-docu....
Registered participants can request a letter from the inviting organisation during the registration process. These supporting letters will only be sent to registered delegates when full payment of conference registration fees is received. This letter will only provide confirmation of the purpose of your trip when applying for your visa and does NOT substitute an official visa permit to the UK.
Please ensure adequate travel insurance is in place in accordance with your company travel policies.
Health Requirements & Vaccinations
Please consult your doctor about any health concerns and for recommendations on health care and vaccinations whilst you are away. Please ensure to travel with your record of vaccinations certificate with you.
If you have any existing medical conditions that require additional support during the conference it is advisable to inform the Events Team on admin [at] nnnevents [dot] com
If you need emergency medical assistance during your trip, dial 999 and ask for an ambulance. You should contact your insurance/medical assistance company promptly if you are referred to a medical facility for treatment.
